Rainer Lucht

Rainer Lucht is senior policy and strategy adviser at Diakonie Emergency Aid (DEA), Germany (Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe) where he has served for more than 16 years. He holds a master's in political science and a PhD in cultural anthropology. His responsibilities embrace issues of ethical quality in humanitarian aid and the relationship between humanitarian aid, politics and the military. He represents DEA in NGO networks and in its relations with public donors and governments throughout Europe. He was actively involved in the development of the European Consensus of Humanitarian Aid 2007. Previously, he worked for more than 10 years in development projects in Central America and India.
