Paul McMaster

Paul McMaster has been a general and specialist academic surgeon with the UK National Health Service for over 30 years, with focus on research and training.

He has extensive surgical experience working across Africa with the UN Population Fund (UNFPA). Between 2005 and 2008, he worked as a field surgeon for Médecins Sans Frontiéres in Burundi, Uganda and Somalia. Since 2008, he has worked as international MSF surgical advisor with responsibility for surgical strategy and emergency team preparation. In 2009 and 2010, he spent several weeks working on MSF emergency programmes in Haiti and Sri Lanka.
