Olaf Kranz

Olaf Kranz is attached to the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He has a degree in physical geography (2000) from the University of Marburg and in 2005 he received the academic title MSc (GIS) from the University of Salzburg. He joined the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) at DLR in 2007 after several years of experience in geoinformation science. He is currently project manager for several enterprises including LIMES, G-MOSAIC and LinkER. He is also deputy rapid-mapping coordinator (RMC) at the Center for Satellite Based Crisis Information (ZKI). He is working on a PhD thesis focusing on the detection of small-scale mining sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
