Nikitas Kanakis
Nikitas Kanakis practices dentistry as a private doctor in Athens. He is chairman and was previously secretary of Doctors of the World and has taken part in several emergency medical and humanitarian missions to countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Eritrea, Lebanon, Palestine, India and Turkey. He is also a founding member and scientific director of ACT4 PEOPLE. He pioneered the movement against human trafficking in Greece and set up the country's first hostel for victims of slavery.
