Martin McCann
Martin McCann has been chief executive of RedR since 2007, where he is currently overseeing an expansion of the charity's overseas capacity building programmes, most recently into South Sudan and the Horn of Africa. Martin has been involved in international development and humanitarian work for the last 30 years, ranging from a two-year service posting in West Africa to being the programme director and deputy international executive director of Plan International, before joining RedR UK. Mr McCann also worked at the appropriate technology organisation ITDG (now Practical Action). He has lived for extended periods in both Africa and Asia. Martin is a trustee of War Child UK and PM4NGOs and was the founding chair of the Hope for African Children Initiative (a multi-NGO coalition on the impact of HIV/AIDS on children in Africa).
