Marc Tyrant
Marc Tyrant is a medical doctor specialising in tropical medicine. He has lived and worked in Pakistan (south Punjab) for 14 years (1989-1991 and 1996-2008) where he was mainly engaged in community health and a tuberculosis programme. Dr Tyrant, who was born in 1962, joined Médecins du Monde (MdM) for its earthquake response in northern Pakistan in 2005 and for later assessment missions in the same area. He participated in setting up an MdM emergency response to the internally displaced persons' (IDP) crisis in June 2009; later, he became strategic advisor of the mission.He is currently a lecturer at the Catholic University in Paris where he teaches an introduction to Islam.
