
Laure Borgomano
Laure Borgomano is a senior civil servant in the Strategic Affairs Department of the French Ministry of Defence. She is currently on secondment to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Diplomatic Counsellor for the French Delegation to NATO (Brussels), in charge of outreach and partnership programmes, as well as energy security and civil-military cooperation. She is also the Humanitarian Affairs POC of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Delegation.
Ms Borgomano graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA ), Paris, and holds an Agrégation de Lettres Classiques and a PhD in Human Sciences (Movie Semiotics) from the University of Grenoble, France. She worked for more than 15 years on secondment to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of scientific and cultural cooperation (in Italy, Germany, and the United States, as well as at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Central Office in Paris). In 1998, she joined the Strategic Affairs Department of the French Ministry of Defence after completion of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. She was appointed as Research Advisor dealing with Middle East issues, sustainable security and NGOs/NATO relations at the NATO Defense College Research Branch in 2000, where she stayed until 2007. Her publications include studies on civil-military relations, Middle East issues, mediation and sustainable security.
