Jürgen Lieser
Born 1948 in Trier, Germany, worked 3 years as a volunteer consultant in a farmers cooperative in Bolivia. After various engagements for the German Development Service (DED) and the German Foundation for International Development (DSE) in Bonn and Berlin, he studied Educational Science at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne. Since 1981, Jürgen Lieser is working for Caritas Germany, initially as program officer for Latin America, later on as head of emergency department and representative of Caritas Germany in Berlin and head of finance and quality management department.
Since 2002, Jürgen Lieser is member of the board and vice chairman of VENRO, the Association of German Development NGOs. He has published various articles on humanitarian aid, civil-military relations and other issues related to the humanitarian system.
