Honey Deihimi
Honey Deihimi is Head of Unit at the Federal Chancery in the Office of the State Minister and Federal Commissioner for Integration and Refugees. Born and raised in Vienna, and with Austrian nationality and Iranian parentage, Ms Deihimi has lived in Germany since 1993. She has degrees in Law and European Law from the Universities of Hannover, in Germany, Le Havre, in France, and Durham, in the United Kingdom. She began her career in European and International Law in Brussels, followed by a position as an advisor at the European Parliament, responsible for the Middle East and North Africa regions and the ‘dialogue with Islam'. Between 2007 and August 2011, she was Commissioner for Integration for the State of Lower Saxony in Germany, responsible for all questions on integration, migration and refugees. She has held her current post since September 2011.
