Hilde Buttiëns
Hilde Buttiëns trained as a tropical medicine doctor and went on to work for six years in a district hospital in rural Kenya. Since 2000 she has been based at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, where she also obtained her MSc in Disease Control. As a research assistant, she was mainly involved in the field of maternal health. Since 2006 she has coordinated postgraduate courses in tropical medicine and international health.
