
Dennis Dijkzeul
Prof. Dr. Dennis Dijkzeul is Professor for Management of Humanitarian Crises and Executive Director of the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV) at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.
From 2000 to 2002, he was Director of the new Programme for Humanitarian Affairs at the School for International and Public Affairs of Columbia University in New York.
He has been working as a Consultant for several international organizations in Africa, Central America, Europe, and the US.
His main nterests concern the management of international organizations, humanitarian action and rebuilding, and the (non)participation of local opulations in development and humanitarian programmes.
His latest books are «Rethinking International Organizations: Pathology and Promise» (Berghahn Books, 2002), «Between Force and Mercy: Military Action and Humanitarian Aid» (Berliner Wissenschaftsverlag, 2004),
