David McCoy
David McCoy is a specialist in public health medicine at the Royal College of Physicians, in the UK. He is a member of the Steering Council for the People's Health Movement and managing editor of Global Health Watch. After graduating in medicine, Dr McCoy worked as a junior doctor in the UK for two-and-a-half years before working as a clinician and medical superintendent in a rural government hospital in South Africa. He subsequently worked in academia at the University of Cape Town and University College London, as well as with the Health Systems Trust, an NGO established in South Africa to develop a research and evidence base to inform the transformation of the apartheid health system. He has an MPhil in maternal and child health from the University of Cape Town and a doctorate from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
