Clemens Graf von Waldburg-Zeil
Clemens Graf von Waldburg-Zeil has been chief executive officer of the German Red Cross (GRC) since January 2003. Before joining the GRC, he headed the Finance Department of the Archdiocese of Berlin (1995-2002), where he was responsible for organisation, finance, asset management and fiscal management, and performed interim management of subsidiaries such as publishing and real estate companies. He started his professional career in 1990, working as a consultant and auditor and later as a certified tax advisor for Dr Lipfert GmbH, an auditing firm based in Stuttgart and Berlin, where he was involved in consulting for and auditing East German companies affected by the reunification process. He is a business graduate who studied computer science and economics in Karlsruhe and Tübingen. He joined the German army for two years and was promoted to first lieutenant before completing his reserve duties.
