Der XI. Humanitäre Kongress brachte 70 internationale Referentinnen und Referenten und eine große Anzahl an Experten aus den Bereichen Medizin, Politik, Medien, Internationales Recht und humanitäre Hilfe zusammen. 2009 lautete der allumfassende Titel: "Taking the Pulse of Humanitarian Action - Reflections on Advocacy, Security, and Climate Change."

During its XI edition the Humanitarian Congress gathered a number of experts and interested people from the medical world, from humanitarian aid, politics, the media, and international law. The overarching theme of 2009 was "Taking the Pulse of Humanitarian Action - Reflections on Advocacy, Security, and Climate Change."
