Huzeifa Bodal
Huzeifa Bodal is a Public Health Expert and Clinical Psychologist by training. He has worked primarily in four main areas: Quality management in health service provision; Managing bi-lateral responses to HIV and AIDS at country level; Linking health and human rights; Developing public health interventions in disasters and complex emergencies situations.
On his last assignment, Huzeifa served as the German Technical Cooperation's (GTZ) HIV and AIDS Coordinator in Malawi from 2006 to 2009 and has recently joined the German BACKUP Initiative, a programme that supports up to 60 countries with various Global Fund related processes ranging from proposal development to grant implementation.
Based at the GTZ Head Office in Germany, he is tasked to place special focus on strengthening health systems in his work.
As an effort to keep close links with academia, Huzeifa coordinates the annual Health and Human Rights Course at the Department of Public Health in the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
