Heinz-Jochen Zenker
Heinz-Jochen Zenker is a retired Psychiatrist and Epidemiologist, a Public Health Specialist and a former Professor for Health Sciences.
After his training in Medicine he participated in the German social and community reform, and then became Head of the Public Health Department, City of Bremen, Germany.
In 1987/1988 he passed a training (MPH) in Epidemiology
at the University of California.
In 2002/2003 he was a Regional (WHO) Advisor for mental
health planning in Laos.
His main fields of interests are Social Medicine for excluded populations, migration and health.
Today Mr. Zenker is member of the Boards of different associations engaged in the fields of migration and health (Counselling and Rehabilitation Centres for traumatized refugees), and holds the position of the President of the Board
of Ärzte der Welt, the German section of Médecins du Monde.
